I Spy My Little Eye: Youth Photography + Community Discovery Camp
I Spy My Little Eye is a hands-on youth photography camp that invites young people to slow down, look closer, and document the communities around them through their own eyes.
Throughout the camp, participants will use photography as a tool for creative expression, career exploration, storytelling, and civic discovery. Campers will learn the basics of visual storytelling while exploring their surroundings, identifying what makes a neighborhood feel welcoming, beautiful, overlooked, challenging, or full of possibility.
Through guided photo walks, creative challenges, group conversations, and community observation, participants will capture the people, places, businesses, public spaces, architecture, nature, and everyday details that tell the story of where they live.
Campers will also explore how photography connects to careers in media, journalism, marketing, art, urban planning, research, community development, and advocacy.
By the end of the experience, each participant will have contributed to a youth-created visual portrait of the community—showing adults, organizations, and decision-makers what young people notice when we actually give them the opportunity to look.
Come curious. Bring your perspective. We’ll provide the prompts. You show us what you see. 👁️📸
