Ms. Cook is a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, a member of the California State Bar Immigration and Nationality Law Advisory Council (INLAC), and an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is an expert in family immigration, waivers, deportation (removal) defense, consular processing, asylum and naturalization law. She has defended scores of people in Immigration Court and helped hundreds of people obtain U.S. residency and citizenship. She has extensive experience litigating immigration cases in the Federal Courts. She represented the named petitioner in Castro-Cortez v. INS,239 F. 3d 1097 (9th Cir 2001), an important case involving due process and reinstatement of removal.
