Join us on Saturday, April 20 for an unparalleled sonic exploration of Spanish and South American classical guitar. Local favorites Eva Scow and Mike Taylor will take the stage to perform the best in Brazilian and Spanish sounds. Up next, Chilean guitarist Cristóbal Selamé will play South American selections he’s perfected in his concerts around the world.

Scow, an American mandolinist and violinist, started playing music at the age of 4. Since then she’s played in orchestras and bands exploring everything from Bluegrass to Brazilian Jazz. Scow has opened for artists including Willie Nelson, Poncho Sanchez, Lee Ritenour, and JJ Cale. She is a member of the contemporary jazz quartet, Espacio, and the progressive funk group, The Experience.

Taylor is a self-taught guitarist from Fresno. He began playing guitar at 11 and started performing professionally at 25. He specializes in classical, jazz, and popular styles of guitar. To date, Taylor has performed and recorded with Espacio, The Experience, and jazz vocalist Karen Marguth. He recently released his self-titled debut and has performed in cities across the United States and Europe.

Cristobal Selamé is the only undergraduate to win the prestigious Guitar Concerto Competition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. A native of Santiago, Chile, Selamé has performed in guitar festivals across the globe, including the Maurizio Biasini International Festival and Competition of Switzerland. Selamé has participated in masterclasses with world-renowned guitarists and was recently accepted into the master’s program at the Academy of Music in Darmstadt, Germany.
