The American Planning Association California Central Section Conference Host Committee is thrilled to invite you to the APA California 2023 Conference, “Planning at the Crossroads” from September 16-19, 2023 in Fresno, California. In addition to many relevant program areas that will be highlighted, we will also take this opportunity to celebrate the Chapter’s 75th Anniversary of its dedication to making great communities come to fruition.
California’s Central Valley is a unique place in our state. Here, cultures from around the world have found their home in its agricultural bounty. Cities and towns have developed a special character related to our land and people, as well as our resources of food, water, and transportation, which have dramatically shaped the state in which we live.
At the conference, we’ll explore the past, present, and future of our profession, its successes and its failures, and what lies beyond the crossroads, including the California High-Speed Rail project, affordable housing, equity in our communities, how to plan for climate change, and addressing issues related to environmental and social justice.
