Community support for the Downtown Fresno PBID

One of the first moves of her new administration in January, 2009, Mayor Ashley Swearengin created the Downtown And Community Revitalization Department (DCR). One of the principle tenets of the new department, which is headed by longtime Downtown activist Craig Scharton, is engagement of the public sector and support of a Downtown Fresno PBID. That support continues, evidenced by Mayor Swearengin's persuasive speech at the October 8 PBID petition drive launch.
