Downtown Fresno is home to a large regional medical center campus, providing state of the art health care to Valley residents. The anchor of this campus is the Community Regional Medical Center, a regional academic medical center with the only burn and Level 1 trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. CRMC also has a 56,000-square-foot emergency department that’s the largest in the state, and leading edge technology such as the world's first G4 "Cyberknife."

The CRMC downtown campus is also home to the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. It brings UCSF Medical School faculty and residents to Fresno, providing superior care to sick children and adults, and teaching the next generation of Valley doctors.
