Downtown Fresno Murals

One of the most visible examples of Fresno's diverse arts scene can be found in Downtown, with the recent proliferation of murals throughout the area by a wide variety of artists. While Fresno has a long history of embracing public art, most of the murals downtown are relatively new additions to the community, especially in the rapidly emerging Cultural Arts District north of Tuolumne Street.

Many of the murals that have been painted in the past few years are part of a program from the local non-profit group Creative Fresno, which is dedicated to making Fresno a place for creative professionals and knowledge workers. The group holds regular fundraisers to help raise the money necessary to fund the Mural Project. You can learn more about the artists behind many of these murals, specifically ones one buildings owned by developer/artist Reza Assemi at muraldistrict.com
